America’s Army 3
Wow its being such a long time I last posted anything its actually a shame, anyway I have an new/old game I have being keeping myself busy with, its called America’s Army 3.
What and awesome game yes it is number 3 for those of you that did not play the first two you missed out but the awesome part is they brought all of the oldskool fun with too number three.
As you may guess it is an FPS (I live for these) and its is a bit more realistic than your average FPS game. Firstly its made by the America’s Army that alone is and wicked achievement in its own right, secondly its absolutely FREE no charge but the bandwidth you pay for to download it, and third its wicked fun
So as I was saying, its an modern warfare FPS with a bit more realism in it. What I mean is that when you start playing the game you are asked to do basic training like you would if you actually signed up at the army. (Training is not mandatory but it will help you later) First off you have to do an basic obstacle course after that you can do all your basic rife and explosive training, all this training will give you unlockable weapons in multiplayer games. Like the grenade launcher, Squad designated marksman ability (M16 with Acog scope) . After all the basic training you can also do the MOUNT course for extra badges(bragging rights) now when you finally are don with all that you get to play.
The game play of AA has always captured me, for e.g. you always play as an US Army soldier with your team. This is where its a bit tricky your enemy’s that are OpFor are actually also US.Army in their own eyes. Both teams have an objective e.g. the one team has an VIP in their team that they have to get to an extraction point on the map, and the other teams mission is to kill the VIP before he reaches the extraction point. This is where their game shines for me both teams are in reality seeing them self as the “good guys” that is the US.Army so while these US soldiers think they are escorting the VIP the other team sees them as OpFor(enemy) that are trying to escort an high up terrorist (The VIP) to their extraction. and vica verca.
The game is built on the Unreal 3 engine and to quote them “every detail counts” is quite accurate, Most PC will be able to play it and I would suggest that If you want tho get your hands on the game, please use Steam to install it Steam makes it so easy to keep it up to date and backup game date if needed.
So if you are an FPS fan and like a bit more realism in your games this will do it for you.
